Join us on Wednesday, May 13 at 7 PM for Vintage Tweets: Suffrage Era Postcards by Carol Crossed. The presentation highlights original suffrage-era postcards and explores themes such as women’s suffrage, abolition, temperance, and the artists behind the movement. It’s a lively, visual, and engaging 45-minute program shared by author and historian Carol Crossed, founder of the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum in Adams, MA. Free and Open to the public!

The NHS Calendar "Growing Up in Nunda and Portage" is available at the Nunda Family Pharmacy, Bell Memorial Library, on eBay and at the Nunda Historical Society. Supplies are limited! Both Volume I and II of Nunda Notables by Peter Piraino are available for $12 at the Nunda Family Pharmacy, Bell Memorial Library or the NHS. For information and an order sheet, go to our gift shop!

Don't forget - our self-guided history walking tour is open. Just stop by our pavilion and pick up one of the tour guides and take a walk through history!

We do have some older historical calendars for sale for only $2.00!  Each one is full of local photos and area history! Stop by and see what is available!

  The NHS will hosting Livingston County Historical Society's program In Our Backyard Series- Part 3 on May 3, 2026 at 1:30 pm.  From their website:    "Become a tourist in your own backyard! Learn about what is special about each of these towns and inspire your next 'day-cation'. Joan Schumaker and Tom Cook will present on Nunda, Marleen Mark will present for N. Dansville, and Stephanie Gehrig will present on Mt. Morris." Free and open to the public.                                            

We have added three new books to our list of local history books for sale! They are "The Diaries of Justus L. Barker: Book One 1855 to 1859" by Pam Cox,  and "The Yesterday Series; Articles written by Thomas S Cook for the Nunda News 1977-1982, Vol 1 and 2.  They are now available in the NHS gift shop, the Nunda Family Pharmacy and can be purchased on Amazon.
