Victorian Picnic at Oakwood Cemetery

 We had hoped to have a traditional victorian style picnic in Oakwood Cemetery, but heavy rains in the morning sent us to the Nunda High School gym. But the weather couldn't dampen the bicentennial spirit shown by those who took part in this wonderful event!

Welcome to the "Picnic!"

 

The Nunda Rotary Club served delicious Strawberry Shortcakes.

 

Victorian Whispers provided Family Victorian Portraiture - complete with wonderful costumes.

 

Members of the local Cemetery Association and Friends of Nunda Cemeteries were on hand with the Oakwood Map for people to find their family graves.
 

 

Victorian Dancing was demonstrated throughout the event by the Victorian Dance Society of the Amherst Museum and the Genesee Country Museum Dancers. Visitors we invited to join in!

 

A program entitled "Hat's Fans, Bustles and Bows" was given by Victorian Whispers.

 

Children were invited to try their hand at making Victorian era fans!

 

Wonderful displays were provided by "Victorian Whispers"
 

 

Entertainment was provided by the Genesee Valley Mountain Dulcimer Club and Friends.
