The Town and Village Historian is an appointed Officer of the Town and Village of Nunda. The Historian's Office is a separate entity from the Nunda Historical Society. We are pleased, however, to offer this space to Mrs. Griffing, our partner in local history and as a tribute to Mrs. Marjorie Frost, Nunda's first Town Historian.

• Inquiries may be directed to the historian in writing as I do not have e-mail. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the courtesy of a response.
  
• Fees - photocopy charge of $.25 per page copied (up to 8 1/2 x 11) applies. Other copies (such as maps, photos, etc.) will be quoted on an as needed basis. I am willing to accept copies of your research in exchange for copying charges.
  
• Donations are gratefully accepted. Items you may consider donating to the Historian's Office include paper items such as letters, pictures and printed materials.
  
• Other local sources for historical information, excluding private collections, includes the Bell Memorial Library, the Nunda Historian Society, and the Keshequa Alumni Association.
  
• Historical Resources avaliable in the Historian's Office include:
  
  • An index card file with over 11,000 entries of area persons. A microfilm copy also exists in the Bell Memorial Library
  • photographs of places and people, including several by Frank Hewitt, local photographer
  • Andrew Russell collection, a local resident and famous Union Pacific Railroad photographer
  • Family files on several area families, including incoming inquiries
  • An updated listing of burials in the Oakwood Cemetery will be available soon. A microfilm copy of a prior reading exists in the Bell Memorial Library
  • A listing of graduates, including married names, from Nun da and Keshequa Central Schools, updated to 2001
  • Topical files such as Civil War, Transportation, etc.
