Bicentennial Memories.....

The Town of Nunda celebrated its Bicentennial during 2008. Over the coming months we will be posting pages of memories from these events. You are welcome to send your favorite photos or memories to us to share on these pages! If the event in the list below is in BLUE, you can click it to see the "memories".

 

 

 2008 Bicentennial Events

 

March 11 - Special Bicentennial Postal Cancellation
March 16 - Bicentennial Drama Production - "200 Years and (Re)counting" at Keshequa Central School (KCS) in Dalton
April 27 - Bicentennial Fashion Show & Refreshments - KCS in Dalton
May 14th- A special Bicentennial Open House at the Nunda Historical Society from 7 to 8:30 pm. Everyone welcome - here are the highlights!
May 31-Bicentennial Memorial Day Service & Program at GAR Memorial Hall -
"Johnny Carter: Nunda's Horatio Alger Story" - Joan Schumaker
June 14 - Bicentennial Flag Day Ceremony - KCS Nunda
July 4 - Bicentennial Revolutionary War Veterans Ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery

; 7 - 10 PM - Nunda Village Street Dance
Sunday, July 13: 1 - 4 PM - Victorian Picnic at Oakwood Cemetery  
Monday, July 14: 1 - 5 PM - Nunda Historical Society & Rose Shave Gallery Open - 24 Portage St.   Featuring -  "Through the Years"-       
Tuesday, July 15:   9 AM - 5 PM - Visit Local Nunda Businesses & Self Guided Walking Tours of Village (maps available at businesses) 10 AM & 2 PM - Historic Nunda/Dalton Bus Tour; 7 PM - Nunda Historical Society 25th Birthday Party 
Wednesday, July 16: 1:30 - 4 PM - Upstairs Tour of Nunda Village Buildings
.2 - 4 PM - Nunda Historical Society Open (see Monday listing) 7 PM - Village of Nunda Gazebo Concert - Full Swing Band  .

Oct 25 - Bicentennial Harvest Walk - Nunda & Dalton (Rescheduled to Next
May due to weather!
Nov 2, "Nunda's Railroads in Song, Story, & Image" 2:30 at the Nunda Historical
Nov 11 - Bicentennial Veteran's Day Ceremonies at William Donovan Memorial, Keshequa Central School, Mill Street 11:00 AM
Dec 5&6 - "Christmas in Nunda" - Bicentennial Fireworks over the Village Saturday at 8 PM !
Dec 27 - Bicentennial Holiday Dance, Dalton School Cafeteria
